Cocktail of the Week: Not Your Average Sour

In honor of National Whiskey Sour Day (August 25), we’re celebrating with a version from Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey. Crafted with Stranahan’s Original, this drink combines the traditional bitters and lemon juice of a whiskey sour, but adds a smoky yet warm essence with added mezcal and nutmeg.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz Stranahan’s Original
  • 1/2 oz mezcal
  • 3/4 oz orgeat syrup
  • 1/2 oz Amaretto
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters
  • nutmeg

Instructions:

Combine Stranahan’s Original, Mezcal, orgeat syrup, amaretto, fresh lemon juice, and angostura bitters in a strainer and shake. Pour in a glassware of choice over ice and garnish with fresh grated nutmeg.
