The Macallan has unveiled final release in The Harmony Collection, Inspired by Fresh Coconut.
Crafted by The Macallan’s Whisky Mastery team, the release comprises two single malt Scotch whiskies, Inspired by Fresh Coconut and Inspired by Toasted Coconut. Through cask selection and maturation, the team has drawn forward a coconut character rarely present in the whisky. Bottled at 92 proof, the two single malt whiskies present a study in contrast and complement. The whiskies are matured in a combination of sherry seasoned American oak casks and casks that previously held bourbon.
“With this concluding release in The Harmony Collection, we have carefully guided coconut notes to the forefront of the whisky through precise cask selection and maturation,” said Kirsteen Campbell, Master Whisky Maker at The Macallan. “The result is two beautifully balanced expressions that showcase both the natural influence of oak and the skill of our Whisky Mastery team, where each element has been carefully shaped to achieve a harmonious and distinctive character.”
As the sixth release in The Harmony Collection, these expressions bring the series back to where the journey first began. The Harmony Collection is brought to life through the TimeSpirit Dining Experience, a creative collaboration with El Celler de Can Roca. TimeSpirit is El Celler de Can Roca’s first dining concept outside of Spain, building on a partnership spanning over a decade between the Roca Brothers and The Macallan.
A series of sweet creations by pastry chef Jordi Roca are paired with a selection of unique serves. A series of six bespoke cocktails have been created to complement the whiskies. “Collaborating on this release has been a joyful creative journey,” said El Celler de Can Roca pastry chef Jordi Roca. “By exploring coconut in its many forms, we have crafted a series of pairings that play with texture, contrast and balance, designed to complement and elevate the whisky in subtle and unexpected ways.”
The Macallan Harmony Collection, a limited annual release series driven by the brand’s curiosity and draws inspiration from collaborations with chefs, connoisseurs, and artists to create whiskies with unique flavor profiles. In keeping with the collection’s ethos, the presentation boxes for both whiskies are crafted using discarded coconut fibers, transformed through an emission-free process into a textured material with a natural black hue.
The Macallan Harmony Collection, Inspired by Fresh Coconut is available at The Macallan Estate Boutique, while the The Macallan Harmony Collection, Inspired by Toasted Coconut and Global Travel Retail exclusive at select airports globally. Both expressions will be priced at $185.
