Jefferson’s Bourbon has released its Founder’s Reserve 20-Year-Old, a 20-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon finished in a French Bordeaux wine cask.
Two decades of aging in Kentucky yields exceptional complexity to the bourbon. The Bordeaux finish adds a final layer of influence to the palette, softening the long finish. The bourbon is then bottled at cask strength, 94 proof.
The expression is inspired by the pioneering spirit of America, the same spirit embodied by its namesake, Thomas Jefferson. In 1787, as U.S. Minister to France, he traveled through Bordeaux seeking out new techniques and new possibilities. As America marks 250 years, Founder’s Reserve 20-Year-Old serves as a tribute to the same spirit that crossed borders, exchanged ideas, and brought the best of the Old World home to the American shores.
“We’re proud to raise a glass to America’s 250th anniversary with this Founder’s Reserve release, inspired by our namesake Thomas Jefferson and the enduring alliance between the United States and France,” says Trey Zoeller, Founder of Jefferson’s Bourbon. “To honor that historic partnership, we selected a rare 20-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon and finished it in a French Bordeaux wine cask, bringing together two great traditions in one remarkable whiskey. The result is a beautifully balanced, elegant spirit that celebrates craftsmanship, innovation, and the shared history that helped shape our nation.”
Only 250 bottles of Jefferson’s Founder’s Reserve 20-Year-Old are available for $499.99.
