Cocktail of the Week: Sour Glow

When “Coming 2 America” dropped earlier this year, we featured The Ruby Ramble, one of its Crown Royal-inspired cocktail. This week, we’re spotlighting another one, and we have to say it has the best name ever!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz of Crown Royal Whisky
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh tangerine juice (or orange juice)
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 1 oz blueberry juice*

Instructions:

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add the whisky, lemon juice, tangerine juice, and simple syrup. Shake vigorously for 1 minute. Add fresh ice to a rocks glass, then strain the cocktail into the glass. Hold a spoon upside down over the glass, close to the surface, and slowly pour 1/2 oz of the blueberry juice over the spoon on top of the drink.

*Blueberry Juice: Add 1 cup of blueberries and 1/2 cup of water to a blender and blend until smooth, about 2 minutes. Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and pulse once or twice, until combined. Strain the blueberry mixture through a fine-mesh sieve (or cheesecloth, for a smoother juice) into a small bowl. Set aside until ready to use. The blueberry juice will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. This makes 12 oz of juice.
