Castle & Key Reveals Its Slow Hands

Castle & Key Distillery recently announced the launch of its Slow Hands Single Barrel Rye, the second whiskey and first single barrel release from the distillery since its founding in 2014.

These cask strength barrel offerings that are expected to yield approximately 200 bottles per barrel. Castle & Key will first be launching four separate barrels and will expand to approximately 10 single barrels by this fall.

“With our Slow Hands series our focus is to bring forth the anomaly, the unusual, and the interesting, to showcase the dynamic nature of maturation,” says Brett Connors, Brand Ambassador and Blender. “With four unique barrels, we are confident whiskey drinkers will find the right one that fits their preferences.”

The 2021 Slow Hands Single Barrel Rye release features four individual cask strength barrels. With 63% rye, 17% yellow corn and 20% malted barley, the grains are cooked, fermented and then distilled, using water from Castle & Key’s on-site Springhouse.

Slow Hands’ Barrel No. 237, Barrel No. 281,Barrel No. 334 and Barrel No. 396 is available for purchase at the The Castle & Key Distillery for $59.99.
