Rye is quickly becoming more and more popular, so it only makes sense that distillers around the country are starting to experiment with their signature rye recipes.
According to The Spirits Business, Woodford Reserve has bolstered its Distillery Series with the release of a Barrel Finished Rye.
Finished in a second barrel, made from new American oak, the Distillery Series’ latest edition uses the same ageing process as Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, which results is a rye that is “rich, robust and spicy.”
The Distillery Series pushes the creative boundaries of whiskeys. Each selection is masterminded by Master Distiller Chris Morris, who created the series, which also includes a blended rye and the Five Malt expression, to highlight Woodford Reserve’s creativity.
“This summer’s special rye is finished in a unique second barrel that is heavily toasted, lightly charred barrel, which brings out even more flavors,” Morris told The Spirits Business. “It is a perfect example of Woodford Reserve bringing innovation not only to Bourbon but the rye whiskey category.”
Woodford Reserve’s Barrel Finished Rye is available to purchase from the Woodford Reserve Distillery and select Kentucky retailers for$49.99 a bottle.
