The Last Drop Distillers New Rum and Scotch Releases

The Last Drop Distillers returns with two rare releases, a 25-Year-Old Trinidad Rum and a 60-Year-Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky.

These releases focus on the craft of long maturation and the character of two storied “ghost” distilleries, Trinidad’s Caroni Distillery and Scotland’s Carsebridge Distillery. Both have since been demolished but what remains in these casks is spirits shaped by decades of aging.

Release No. 41: The Last Drop 25-Year-Old Trinidad Rum from the Caroni Distillery is a 25-year-old Trinidadian rum, at 130.4 proof, drawn from two bourbon casks, one distilled in 1997 and the other in 1999. Selected and married to balance Caroni’s depth with layers of tropical fruit and floral lift. Long maturation in the tropical climate has created a spirit that reflects Caroni’s production style. Since its closure in 2003, the rum distillery has achieved near-mythical status.

Release No. 42: The Last Drop 60-Year-Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky from the Carsebridge Distillery was laid down in November 1965. Presented at 84.8 proof, the expression is aged six decades in a single ex-bourbon cask. Distilled during the twilight of Carsebridge’s operational life, it stands as a testament both to the foresight of its creators and the history of one of Scotland’s silent grain giants.

“The 2026 Curated Collection brings together two extraordinary spirits shaped by time, rarity, and provenance,” said Rebecca Jago, Director of Brand Experience, The Last Drop Distillers. “These releases embody the discoveries and stories we are privileged to share; spirits that reveal something truly singular and remind us why we search the world for moments of brilliance.”

“This Caroni cask is a powerful reminder of Trinidad’s rum‑making heritage: bold, industrial, and unmistakably expressive,” said Kizito Owusu-Sarfo, Sazerac Brand Director of World Aged Spirits. “Decades of tropical maturation have revealed layers of character that speak to the island’s spirit and to Caroni’s enduring legacy.”

“Additionally, our other release is a remarkable single grain whisky that is a survivor from a long-closed Lowland distillery,” he added. “It offers a rare glimpse into Scotch whisky’s golden age. After sixty years in cask, it has developed a depth and quiet elegance shaped by patience, time and craft. I was taken aback when I tasted both and still find the flavors developing with each time that I have the opportunity to taste.”

Each bottle from The Last Drop 2026 Collection is wax-sealed, individually numbered and presented in a bespoke case that includes a 50ml miniature, a pocket-sized tasting book, and an engraved stopper cork.

The Last Drop 2026 Collection will be available in limited quantities across the United Kingdom and made available at select retailers, bars and restaurants. 261 bottles of Release No. 41: The Last Drop 25-Year-Old Trinidad Rum from the Caroni Distillery is available for £1,750/$2,387, while only 140 bottles of Release No. 42: The Last Drop 60-Year-Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky is available for £3,700/$5,046.
