MGP Ingredients has announced the latest addition to its branded spirits portfolio, MGP. The all-new brand brings the legendary producer’s whiskey and spirits expertise directly to consumers under its own name for the first time.
The brand’s inaugural release, MGP Chapter One: Out of the Shadows, is a 111-proof, 10-year-old straight bourbon whiskey. MGP Distillery Master Distiller Ian Stirsman blended barrels of the historic LBSV mash of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley to capture the character of the distillery’s signature high-rye whiskey. The barrels were aged for a full decade in Rickhouse G, one of the distillery’s most celebrated warehouses.
“For MGP Chapter One: Out of the Shadows, we went into some of our exceptional barrels and made a whiskey that really represents what makes our distillery unique,” said Ian Stirsman, Master Distiller at MGP Distillery. “It’s exciting to finally share a bottle under the MGP name and give enthusiasts a taste of the craftsmanship that has been part of our distillery for generations.”
The expression is a straight bourbon whiskey that pays tribute to MGP’s decades-long influence on American whiskey. As one of the largest American whiskey producers, MGP has crafted spirits for hundreds of acclaimed brands and long been recognized by retailers, distributors, collectors and enthusiasts as a mark of quality. Now, the legendary distillery is stepping forward to introduce itself directly to consumers with a bottle bearing its own name for the first time.

The launch coincides with the return of the MGP Distillery name to its historic Lawrenceburg, Indiana operation, marking a new chapter for the distillery.
