Cocktail of the Week: New York State of Mind

As a brand “made in Brooklyn,” we obviously love NYC and its spirits. So does Oceana’s Wine Director Andrew O’Reilly. He recently introduced a new cocktail menu that allows guests of the restaurant to imbibe on New York libations. His “Made in New York” menu currently offers three cocktails whose primary components are sourced locally from around the state. Of the three, we wanted to highlight this one!

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz. Coppersea Rye
  • 1 oz. Apple infused New York Honey (instructions below)
    • 1 quart of New York honey
    • 3 apples, thinly sliced

Instructions:

Combine the Copper Sea Rye with the infused honey in a rocks glass. Stir until the ingredients are fully incorporated. Add one large ice cube and garnish with a thin apple slice.

For the honey, add the apples to the quart of honey and stir mixture daily for 2-3 weeks, or until the apple flavors balances with the natural flavor of the honey.
