Cocktail of the Week: Crushing It

Spring has sprung… or is springing depending on where you live. To celebrate the season, Beacon Tavern Head bartender Alex Schmaling has added a new selection of cocktails filled with the freshest spring ingredients to their menu, including this week’s feature. Riffing off of of the Whiskey Smash, this cocktail combines mint, lemon, bourbon, and fresh fruit. A smash is a close cousin of a Julep, which makes this even more perfect as the Kentucky Derby is in less than a month!

Instructions:

Muddle berries and mint, then add liquid ingredients and 2-3 ice cubes into a shaker. Give a quick shake. Dump into Julep cup and top with crushed ice. Garnish with a mint sprig and picked berries. Serve with straw.
