Bushmills Irish Whiskey just rolled out the second round of its Private Reserve Limited Release vintage single malt whiskey series.
The new expressions will consist of four vintage single malts whiskeys, each aged in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks before maturing in a unique third cask. This includes two 10 year olds (finished in Amarone Casks and Moscatel Casks, respectively) and two 12 year old single malts (finished in Bordeaux Casks and Tequila Casks, respectively).
These expressions, the work of Bushmills’ first female Master Blender, Alex Thomas, each boast a single vintage year in which it was distilled. Like all Bushmills’ single malts, they are made with 100% unpeated malted barley and the spring water from the river Bush, then triple-distilled in small batches in traditional copper pot stills for that signature smoothness.
The second set of Private Reserve Limited Releases includes Bushmills Private Reserve 10 Year Old: Amarone Casks, 2014 Vintage (94.6% proof), Bushmills Private Reserve 10 Year: Old Moscatel Casks, 2013 Vintage (97% proof), Bushmills Private Reserve 12 Year Old: Bordeaux Casks, 2012 Vintage (94 proof) and Bushmills Private Reserve 12 Year Old: Tequila Casks, 2012 Vintage (92.8% proof)
The second set of Bushmills’ Private Reserve Limited Releases is available for a limited time only for purchase on Flaviar, Caskers, retail stores, bars and restaurants nationwide. Each of the 10 Year Old variants can be purchased at $59.99, with the 12 Year Olds available for $74.99.
