This holiday season, Sonoma-Cutrer and Woodford Reserve announced a $50,000 joint donation to No Kid Hungry, a national campaign dedicated to ending childhood hunger. The brands, both owned by the Brown-Forman Corporation, will provide up to 500,000 meals* to those facing food insecurity in the United States.
Sonoma-Cutrer and Woodford Reserve first aligned with No Kid Hungry in July 2018, and have since donated a total of $150,000 to the campaign.
“We are proud and humbled to support No Kid Hungry’s ongoing efforts to feed kids without access to the meals they need,” said Sonoma-Cutrer Pinot Noir Winemaker Zidanelia Arcidiacono. “Today, in light of this year’s unprecedented times, it is an even greater privilege to stand up for these children and their families.”
“We know that holiday celebrations will look different this year,” adds Woodford Reserve Assistant Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall. “We hope that consumers can feel confident in their purchase of Woodford Reserve and Sonoma-Cutrer, knowing that both brands are giving back and doing their part to provide meals for people in need.”
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, No Kid Hungry developed a Free Meals Finder to help families find free meals and provided $34.5 million in emergency relief to schools and communities across the United States and its territories.
“We are forever grateful to Sonoma-Cutrer and Woodford Reserve for their ongoing dedication to No Kid Hungry and generous donation to help us fight to end childhood hunger,” said Diana Hovey, SVP of Corporate Partnerships for No Kid Hungry. “This year has brought the nation unforeseen obstacles and challenges, especially those in need, but we have learned that together, with support from brands like Sonoma-Cutrer and Woodford Reserve, we can weather the storm.”
Consumers are invited to join both brands in donating to No Kid Hungry by texting “FRIENDS” to 68405.
