The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) is celebrating the new season with the release of its Whispers of Spring Creators Collection.
The release features four limited-edition single-cask single malts that are an ode to the season of renewal, where each bottle has a narrative of new beginnings and transformation. of the whiskies, two of them are from Speyside, one is from the Lowlands and one is from Highlands.
Cask No. 50.120 Dawn’s Embrace symbolizes the awakening of the senses. This 34-year-old whisky offers a balance of oak, vanilla and a light, honeyed sweetness. At 106.8 proof, the cask yielded 54 bottles.
Cask No. 94.51 Verdant Awakening channels the energy of springtime in the Highlands. This 27-year-old whisky has fresh, grassy notes, citrus zest, and a touch of sweetness. This expression yielded 54 bottles as well, and is 111.6 proof.
Cask No. 72.125 Blossom Reverie is a tribute to the blossoms that adorn the Speyside landscape. The 29-year-old whisky features notes of apple blossom, pear, and a hint of vanilla. At 99.2 proof, this cask yielded 66 bottles.
Cask No. 105.55 Crepuscular Complexity represents dusk, when the day transitions to night. This 35-year-old whisky’s contribution to the collection is rich, warming notes of heather, honey, and a subtle smokiness. This expression yielded 25 bottles (the smallest allotment) and is 92.4 proof.

Since its founding more than 40 years ago, The Society has sourced and shared a supply of hand-selected single-cask, single malt whiskies with members, who are now more than 40,000 worldwide.

Each installment of the Creators Collection series, ranging from trios to quartets, released over the next 12 months will focus on unique whisky production techniques and cask maturation. Each bottling can be purchased individually and will be released sequentially on the Society’s website.
