Penderyn Drops Two Cask Strength US Exclusives

Penderyn Distillery recently announced the release of two new whiskies exclusively for the U.S. market: Penderyn Six Year Old Moscatel de Setúbal Wine Cask and Penderyn Six Year Old Tawny Port Cask.

The new cask strength whiskies land stateside in anticipation of St. David’s Day, the March 1st National Day of Wales. It was on this day in 2004 that Penderyn launched its first whisky in the presence of Prince Charles.

Penderyn Six Year Old Moscatel de Setubal Wine Cask (seen below) is matured in Buffalo Trace Bourbon casks and then finished in Moscatel de Setúbal casks, which formerly served to age Portuguese fortified wine.

Penderyn Six Year Old Tawny Port Cask (seen above) has been matured in Buffalo Trace Bourbon casks and then finished in Tawny Port casks.

Both limited bottlings, Penderyn Six Year Old Moscatel de Setubal Wine Cask is 120 proof will retail for $120, while Penderyn Six Year Old Tawny Port Cask is 119 proof 59.59% and will retail for $120.
