Milam & Greene Whiskey is releasing Unabridged Volume 3: A Cask-Strength Blend of Straight Bourbon Whiskeys. Unabridged Volume 3 is part of the distillery’s Blender’s Reserve Collection, a group of limited-edition bourbons.
For this year’s release, the Milam & Greene expert team blind-tasted various barrels and specific blends before landing on an exact formula. Unabridged Volume 3 is a blend of 49 barrels of bourbon that marries a 10-year-old and 9-year-old Kentucky bourbon for backbone with a 4-year-old Texas malted-rye bourbon for sweetness. Some Tennessee bourbon is added for vanilla and balance. The proof clocks in at 118 proof.
“Customers love cask-strength whiskeys,” says Milam & Greene Whiskey Master Blender Heather Greene. “They had been asking us for years to create one, and we answered by creating the Unabridged series. The trick was to do something full of flavor and personality while still retaining elegance. Judging from the reaction at this year’s Kentucky Bourbon Festival, we nailed it once again.”
Unabridged Volume 3 follows in the footsteps of its prestigious predecessors. Unabridged Volume 1 debuted in 2022 and was recognized as a Double Platinum winner in the esteemed Ascot Awards. Unabridged Volume 2 was unveiled in 2023 to even better reviews and was also recognized as a Double Platinum winner in the Ascot Awards and listed in the Top 25 Whiskeys of 2023 by whiskey expert Fred Minnick.
Following its popular pre-release debut at which several bottles sold out at the 2024 Kentucky Bourbon Festival, Milam & Greene Whiskey’s Unabridged Volume 3 is now available for $94.99.
