Green River Distilling Co has launched its Wheated Full Proof Bourbon.
The expression is comprised of its signature wheated recipe (70% corn, 21% wheat, and 9% malted barley) and presented at a variable batch-proof ranging from 109 – 116. The initial batch is bottled at 109.3 proof, aged for five to seven years in Green River’s signature clay tile warehouses, the barrels experience a naturally insulated environment that accelerates flavor development.
“Wheated Full Proof is our way of giving fans a richer, more intense experience of the wheated bourbon they already love,” said Dan Callaway, Green River Distilling Co. Master Blender. “We kept the same mash bill and the same commitment to balance, then selected and blended barrels that truly shine at barrel strength. The result is a more robust expression that still drinks like Green River.”
Wheated bourbon represents roughly one-third of the North American bourbon market, with growth projected through 2031, even as average prices continue to climb across the category. At the same time, enthusiast demand has increasingly tilted toward higher proof offerings, with 100+ proof bourbons dominating many top rankings and full-proof releases showing strong growth across the category.
“At Green River, it’s not about breaking new ground or dialing up the hype,” said Callaway. “Wheated Full Proof doubles down on our commitment to make the best of Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey with uncompromising value.”
Green River Wheated Full Proof Bourbon is available in 25 markets in $49.99.
