The Glenlivet has launched its 12 Year Old Illicit Still, a limited-edition expression inspired by the its “illicit past and passion for originality.”
The whisky draws inspiration from The brand’s founder, George Smith, who illegally distilled in hand-crafted, small copper stills in a hidden away bothy in the remote Glenlivet valley. Smith’s illicitly distilled scotch reshaped the conventions of the time and is the origin of the signature fruity and floral Speyside style.
The design for The Glenlivet 12 Year Old Illicit Still is inspired by the oldest bottle in the brand’s archives, and features copper highlights that represent the hand-crafted stills used to illicitly produce the whisky in the 1800s.
The Glenlivet 12 Year Old Illicit Still is now available for $69.
