Duncan Taylor Releases Oldest Highland Park Whisky

Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Ltd recently unveiled the oldest Highland Park whisky ever released by an independent bottler and one of the oldest to come on the market. The inaugural edition of “The Accolade” portfolio sees the launch of an exquisite 54-Year-Old Highland Park whisky from 1970.

Cask number #3254 has yielded 158 bottles at 85 proof. A rare and aged expression from the Scottish distillery in Orkney, Duncan Taylor has owned the cask since its inception and aged it for more than half a century, in its vaults at its Huntly headquarters. Harnessing the influence of the salty sea winds and the intensely floral peat, the whisky was matured in sherry-seasoned oak casks for the entirety of the maturation process.

Housed in a finished cabinet accented with a dynamic wave, The Accolade spirit is presented in a hand-crafted dagger decanter, complemented by the themed wave in the form of an illuminated copper plinth. A certificate of authenticity and handling kit containing gloves are also included in the cabinet.

“This is the last collection for our rare and aged whiskies this year,” said Shawn Smith, Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Ltd CEO. “It is an honor to launch one of the oldest Highland Park whiskies to reach the market and present it within the luxurious packaging befitting the rare spirit inside.”

Duncan Taylor’s The Accolade: Highland Park 1970 is priced at $28,562.60 and is being sold exclusively through The Spirits Embassy.
