Black Bourbon Society (BBS) recently partnered with Jack Daniels to celebrate its Salon 7 Legacy Awards.
Inspired by the salon gatherings of The Harlem Renaissance during the 1920s and 30s, Salon 7 was an intimate event featuring a panel discussion, signature cocktails and a whiskey tasting featuring Jack Daniels. The event highlighted New York black leaders who are building a legacy with their businesses and in their communities. Honorees included Sorel Liqueur Founder Jacki Summers, The Grant Access Founder Lauren Groove, bartender/author Shannon Mustipher, Red Rooster’s Chef Kingsley, Harlem Haberdashery Owners Guy and Shay Woods and Paramount Television Studio’s VP of Social Impact Melissa Potter.
The event included a tasting menu courtesy of Red Rooster as well as a Jack Daniel’s tasting that included its signature expression, Gentleman Jack and a BBS barrel pick.
BBS is a membership-based organization open to everyone who enjoys premium spirits and is interested in gaining a deeper appreciation for bourbon. BBS looks to bridge the gap between the spirits industry and African-American bourbon enthusiasts through brand-partnered events, social media platforms, and exclusive distillery excursions.
